Motivational Art Experiment: “I Will Graduate to ____________”

Inspired by urban design artist Candy Chang’s public artwork and frustrated by all my Berkeley friends refusing to spend quality time with me during this busy pre-finals week (how can anyone turn down a free Bollywood dance class?!), I decided to do a little experiment in one of the empty Berkeley classrooms I’ve been occupying for late night work after all the libraries kick me out. (I’m still adjusting to the harsh reality that my PennCard doesn’t get me anywhere at Berkeley.)

So I drew this on the board:

Then I added some fake entries to kick it off:

And when I came back 24 hours later expecting the billions of heartfelt entries to extend onto adjacent chalkboards, walls, and desks:

Perhaps 22 is the new 42, and I’m just not as philosophical as Deep Thought is to figure it out.

I optimistically think that the “#22” is a code bestowed upon you for your awesome blackboarding–an invite to a secret club!
