Friday 9pm: Our Mentors and mentors, who have been saints in helping us acclimate to Malaysia, drop off our newly-purchased motorbikes at our house. “We’ll teach you and Charlie how to ride them on Sunday,” they said.

World Kite Festival
Fifteen other ETAs and I partook in the Pasir Gudang World Kite Festival this past weekend. Though if you didn’t look up, you would’ve thought it was an Angry Birds balloon festival.
I actually spent more time imagining The Attack of the Giant Kites Eerily Looming off the Horizon than eating at the cheap food and snack stalls (US$1 waffles!).

Folks came from all over the world to fly kites in the abysmal and only-slightly-breezy weather. Including a dude from the US. Who has huge calves. In case you were wondering.
