Contest (w/ Prize!): Name Mark’s Motorcycle!

Our mentors and other folks have been incredibly generous in helping us get around the past couple of weeks. Now that we’ve finished training and settled into our house, most of the Fulbies (coined by Fanny) have been looking into motorbikes to be a bit more independent.

Hopefully the folks at the Indian internet cafe across the street will think we’re cool and have lives once my housemate Charlie and I stop spending four hours a day there.

First order of business: naming the bike!

1st place prize: US$3,000.00, in the form of three limited edition photographs of me modeling with my bike.

The bike and RED HELMET cost US$664, plus US$150 for paperwork and a year’s worth of insurance; so don’t you worry about me! Besides, medical care in Malaysia is cheap, so reattaching limbs shouldn’t cost me an arm and a leg.

Now all I need is a customised helmet sticker with the yet-to-be-designed unofficial Malaysia Fulbright ETA logo for all of the ETAs in our motorcycle gang to don.

Oh, I guess I’ll need lessons, too. Motorcycle lessons begin this weekend! They may or may not begin with YouTubing “how to ride a motorcycle.” Or this.

Haha we’re supposed to teach British English, so I figured I should suck it up and start practising. I haven’t yet been able to bring myself to change Brick Chick’s (my laptop) language to British English, though.
